Project description
To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Germanies Reunification the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung issued 500.000. of an AR special edition. Volkswagen contributed to this newspaper with a special ID.3 AR-Print ad. Mobile Web-GL technology is used to transform the print ad into a AR 3D-Experience. No extra app installation is necessary. Only a QR Code (link) and a programmed mobile website are needed. A web app on the mobile website recognizes the trigger image, activates the camera within the mobile browser, and provides the AR experience to the user. The technology is working on iOS and Android.
40% of the of all AR-users choose to scan our ID.3 AR experiences from all available one in the newspaper. 2.204 users used the in-app car configurator and 407 user booked a test drive.
